Tame is a VR musical inspired by "The Little Prince", set on a planetary stage with unique gravity. With a strong focus on interactivity, this interactive experience enhances player participation in the beloved tale, showcasing a music-enhanced interactive narrative in a cute VR environment.

Concept

Inspired by Saint-Exupéry's book The Little Prince, the presented experience focuses on the home planet of the little prince and his encounter with a rose through musical interaction in VR scenes. Tame leverages the form of musical play while crafting the audience’s immersive interaction into the narrative progression. Starting with passive sound samples triggered by the audience's motion, the experience culminates during the duet with the rose, where a musical conversation unfolds, forming an affective bond.

In Tame, music conveys emotional states and narrative tone, using ambisonics for sound sources like baobabs and volcanoes. The interactive music consists of two parts: 1. Walking on the Planet: A generative soundtrack inspired reflecting the little prince's loneliness, triggered by player's virtual walking. 2. Musical Dialogue with the Rose: A Cantata-style dialogue invites audience participation, with AI-composed songs for the rose.
